1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using the BorderlessTek Apprenticeship Portal ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. About the Service
The BorderlessTek Apprenticeship Portal is a platform that helps users discover UK apprenticeship vacancies, build CVs, generate cover letters, and assess their suitability for roles using AI-powered tools. Apprenticeship listings are sourced from the UK Government's Find an Apprenticeship service and are subject to change at any time.
3. Accounts
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- You must provide accurate information when registering and keep it up to date.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
4. Token System and Payments
- Certain features (CV generation, cover letters, Quick Match, LinkedIn import) require tokens.
- Tokens are purchased via Stripe and credited to your account upon successful payment.
- Tokens are non-refundable once used. Unused tokens may be refunded at our discretion — contact us at hello@borderlesstek.com.
- Token prices are displayed before purchase and may change with reasonable notice.
- Payments are processed securely by Stripe. BorderlessTek Ltd does not store your card details.
5. AI-Generated Content
CVs, cover letters, and match scores are generated by AI and are provided for guidance only. You are responsible for reviewing all AI-generated content before using it in job applications. BorderlessTek Ltd makes no guarantee that AI-generated content is accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular vacancy.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or extract data from the platform.
- Upload malicious files or content.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
- Abuse the token system or attempt to circumvent payment.
7. Intellectual Property
All platform content, design, and code is owned by BorderlessTek Ltd. You retain ownership of any personal content you upload (e.g. CV data). By uploading content, you grant us a limited licence to process it to provide the Service.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BorderlessTek Ltd is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service, including loss of job opportunities or reliance on AI-generated content.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify registered users by email of any material changes. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are
BorderlessTek Ltd ("we", "us", "our") is the data controller for personal data collected through the BorderlessTek Apprenticeship Portal. We are registered in England and Wales.

2. Data We Collect
Account data: full name, email address, encrypted password.
Profile data: phone number, date of birth, home address, professional headline, bio, work experience, education, skills, certifications, LinkedIn URL, portfolio URL.
Payment data: token balance and transaction history (amounts, dates, reasons). Card details are processed and stored by Stripe — we never see or store them.
Usage data: AI feature usage (CV generations, cover letters, Quick Match scores, LinkedIn PDF imports), login timestamps, last seen time.
Technical data: your session token is stored in your browser's localStorage. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and personalise the Service (profile, CV building, job matching).
- To process token purchases and credit your account.
- To send account activation and password reset emails.
- To improve the platform and monitor for abuse.
4. Legal Basis for Processing (UK GDPR)
- Contract: processing necessary to provide the Service you signed up for.
- Legitimate interests: security monitoring, abuse prevention, platform improvement.
- Legal obligation: retaining payment records as required by law.
5. Third Parties
- Stripe — payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy applies to card data: stripe.com/gb/privacy.
- Anthropic — AI content generation (CV, cover letter, match scoring). Your profile data is sent to Anthropic's API to generate content. Anthropic's privacy policy: anthropic.com/privacy.
- Microsoft Azure — cloud hosting and database. Data is stored within the UK/EU region.
We do not sell your data to any third party.
6. Data Retention
- Account and profile data: retained while your account is active, and for up to 2 years after deletion upon request.
- Payment records: retained for 7 years as required by UK tax law.
- AI-generated content: not stored on our servers — generated on demand and delivered directly to you.
7. Your Rights (UK GDPR)
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Rectification — correct inaccurate data (you can do this directly in your profile).
- Erasure — request deletion of your account and data.
- Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data.
- Portability — receive your data in a portable format.
- Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@borderlesstek.com. We will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted passwords (bcrypt), HTTPS in production, and signed JWT session tokens. No system is completely secure — please use a strong, unique password and keep it confidential.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the Service evolves. Material changes will be notified by email. The "last updated" date above will always reflect the current version.
